We have officially determined Augustine's FIRST WORD! There has been some debate. He has been saying "Uh-Oh" for months. When he throws something, he says "Uh-Oh". Since he is using it appropriately, it could technically be considered the FIRST WORD. Then of course, is "Mama", which he says incessantly. However, he uses it indiscriminately whenever he wants something or is upset. So, probably it doesn't qualify.
Enough suspense I hear you saying! The official FIRST WORD is….. TWO! That's right two, as in the number after one. A favorite game around here is to swing him and count "one, two, three" and toss him onto the couch. We noticed a while ago that when someone would say "one", he would join in and say "two". It has become clearer each time. Now he does it apart from the game anytime someone prompts him with "One".
And the best part is that in a couple of years, when the kids say, "Hey Mom, what was Augustine's first word?", I will be able to hop on here and find the answer!!!
