Whew! That was fun! And over too soon! We got started a little late this year because of baseball in the morning. Grandmommy and Granddaddy came to the game and then to the house for a quick little birthday party for Charlie. We couldn’t make him eat cake, but at least he blew out the candles.

The first guests arrived by 4pm and the last one, same guest by the way ;-), left shortly after 10pm. I think we were all asleep by 11:15! Within ten minutes of the party starting, there was little evidence that we spent the better part of the week cleaning. But my dear friends skipped the fireworks out back to help get the house back in shape. Thanks Kathy and Tammy! 🙂

It rained a little but that didn’t stop our dedicated grill-master or the kids playing volleyball and the others in the pool. Most of us moms stayed cool inside with our babies and toddlers enjoying this all too rare reunion of old friends. Even now, I miss those “good old days” when we all lived near each other. But there were new friends too that have become a big part of our lives. And there were new friends and old friends who couldn’t come that were missed.

The clean-up isn’t done, even three days later. There was more baseball to attend, and, honestly, we are all feeling a bit lazy after last week’s effort. My goal right now is to keep us from sliding back into the total chaos which caused us to spend a whole week cleaning one level!

Now on to the next challenge, planning for the next school year. Or maybe, I will just grab a cup of tea and a magazine and watch the kids swim… Sounds like a plan.
